Explain your career path—how did you become a Controller?
I am Senior Manager with 15+ years of international experience delivering Strategic Finance as Fractional CFO/Controller, M&A transactions Advisor, and Finance Engineer for businesses in US, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and other LATAM countries. Specializing in building scalable finance operations, implementing tech-enabled automated/streamline workflows, and providing strategic financial leadership to growth-stage and mid-market companies. Therefore, company scaling across multiple countries is exactly the kind of complexity I find energizing and where I do my best work. Also, I am a Former Big 4 professional (Deloitte, KPMG, EY) with hands-on expertise across CPG, E-Commerce, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, Technology, Real Estate, and Financial Services.
Can you describe your personal self?
I consider myself a go-getter driven by growth and outcomes. Always pushing for new challenges and setting higher standards for myself, both personally and professionally. Outside of work, I am a big sports fan and competitive amateur who thrives on competition. Because for me, new challenges aren't pressure, they're how I enjoy life.
What are your top personal values, and how do you apply those to your work?
1. Integrity: Everything in finance runs on trust — founders, leadership, and partners need to know that the numbers are clean, the reporting is honest, and the advice is unconflicted.
2. Partnership: I don't see my role as serving leadership. I see it as building alongside them. That means understanding what each founder is trying to achieve and aligning the financial architecture of the business to support those goals, not just report on them.
3. Growth Mindset: Both personal and organizational. I am drawn to environments where things are being built rather than maintained, because that's where growth actually happens.
4. Accountability: Entrepreneurs take real risks. The least I can do is take full ownership of my part of the equation, so that founders can focus on building without worrying about what's happening behind the scenes.
5. Impact Over Activity: Being busy is not the same as being useful. I measure myself by whether my work meaningfully moved the business forward.
Why did you choose to join The Launch Box?
The Launch Box occupies a distinctive, uncrowded niche, with limited direct competition in the PE / VC space. As well as a solid founder track record story. Therefore, it was enticing to work inside a firm that actively builds and launches professional services companies, which means every day involves real commercial stakes and outcomes, not just reporting. While also shaping how new businesses are financially structured as the portfolio is growing. That means not inheriting a mature static finance function but one you are architecting, which is a fundamentally different and a more rewarding challenge.
What is a common misconception you hear about being a Controller?
Finance and accounting are only about numbers.
What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?
Building and launching professional services firms alongside entrepreneurs and leaders who are serious about driving growth and value creation.
What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?
Becoming a strategic business partner to leadership and making entrepreneurial dreams come true as we build to go fast but also to last. Impacting the business and its people to achieve growth that is as meaningful for the people building it as it is for the businesses being built.
