Explain your career path—how did you become a JR SWE Developer?

I graduated from university this year and got my Engineering degree in Software Development, while still studying I worked as Software Developer Intern at Corporativo Fragua, for approximately 9 months, until I recently I decided I wanted to step away from the ultra-strict corporate world and explore a new path in my career in a company that promoted a more fast-paced development and the use of top tier technologies.

Can you describe your personal self?

I’m very passionate about technology, specifically the various applications of AI in many different fields, computer vision being one that I have a lot of interest in, on another note I also enjoy music very much and cooking is one of my favorite things to do, specially making pastries and baked goods.

What are your top personal values, and how do you apply those to your work?

I consider myself very adaptable and flexible, I consider the unknown a challenge to be conquered and an opportunity to learn new things and to test the extent of my capabilities. At work I always like to look up stuff that I might not be familiar with, so I can know more about certain tools or technology and how can I take the most advantage of them in the future.

Why did you choose to join The Launch Box?

I chose The Launch Box because it seemed like a challenge and a good opportunity to broaden my skills. I haven’t worked in company that managed multiple associates the way we do here and so it became very appealing working with a team of specialists so dedicated to creating solutions that benefited all our associates.

What is a common misconception you hear about being a JR SWE Developer?

I think one of the biggest misconceptions I hear about being a Software Engineer is that your only task is to write code, software developers are often portrayed as being loners who write tons of lines of code all day, but in reality the role involves a lot of communication and coordination with other teammates, also we do much more than just write code, we have to structure and design entire systems across different platforms so in a way we act as architects and technicians of the digital machine rooms that keep our operations running.

What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?

That would be working with a team of professional specialists with a clear vision of the future, and a clear understanding of tomorrow’s needs.

What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?

The growth opportunities, personal and company wise, I’m very excited about all the new things that I will learn from all the experiences working here and their impact on my professional career. But also, I’m confident that I will do my best to contribute to making The Launch Box the best option for any wannabe associates and keep on offering the best tech solutions.
