Explain your career path—how did you become a IT Network Specialist?

I progressed through various IT roles, beginning as a service desk professional for a large bank with over 30,000 employees across the East Coast. After that, I spent 3 years as an IT Specialist and then Network Specialist at an incredible MSP company based in Texas, where I focused on supporting small to medium-sized businesses and medium enterprises. This experience helped me develop a robust technical foundation and a deep understanding of client needs. When the opportunity arose to join The Launch Box as a support engineer in a service desk capacity, I recognized it as a chance to leverage my IT network expertise. This role allows me to be in an entrepreneurship environment and part of an inspiring community focused on innovation and collaboration. I’m excited about contributing to meaningful solutions and learning from entrepreneurs along the way.

Can you describe your personal self?

I see myself as a dedicated and empathetic individual. I enjoy connecting with people and strive to create a positive experience for everyone I interact with. Outside of work, I have a passion for technology and continuous learning, which drives me to stay updated with the latest trends in IT. I also value work-life balance and enjoy spendin time with my family and engaging in hobbies like hiking and reading.

What are your top personal values, and how do you apply those to your work?

My top personal values include integrity, collaboration, and service-oriented solutions. In my role, I ensure that these values guide my interactions. I communicate transparently with users, collaborate with my team to develop the best possible solutions, and prioritize charity by focusing on answers that genuinely help users and ensure their needs are met effectively.

Why did you choose to come to The Launch Box?

I chose to join The Launch Box because of its mission to support entrepreneurs and foster innovation. Being in an environment that promotes collaboration and growth resonates with my values. Additionally, the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals passionate about aiding others aligns perfectly with my career goals in network infrastructure. I believe my skills can contribute meaningfully to the team and its objectives.

What is a common misconception you hear about IT?

A common misconception about my work is that it is solely focused on technical skills and problem-solving. While technical expertise is important, the role emphasizes strong communication and customer service. Many people overlook the fact that success in this position heavily relies on understanding user needs, empathizing with their challenges, and effectively communicating solutions.

What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?

The most fulfilling part of my role at The Launch Box is the opportunity to directly improve users' experiences. Seeing the tangible outcomes of my support efforts whether it’s resolving a frustrating technical issue or helping someone understand a complex concept provides me with a sense of accomplishment. It’s rewarding to know that I can make a positive difference in the day-to-day lives of the people I support.

What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?

I am most excited about the potential for collaborative learning with entrepreneurs at The Launch Box. The diversity of ideas and experiences within this community presents a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices.
