The Launch Box Life with Isaiah Zamora

At The Launch Box, we are entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs, but we took very different journeys to get here. In this series, readers will learn more about how we each live #thelaunchboxlife every day.

Isaiah is currently a computer science major with a minor in applied mathematics. He is extremely passionate about all things related to computers and systems development. The value he adds for clients is his intense dedication always to deliver the best service, regardless of the task at hand, as well as his consistent positive, can-do attitude.

Explain your career path—how did you become a IT Intern?

I first started my freshman year of college with unfortunately no luck on securing an internship for the summer. But I didn’t let this discourage me; I relentlessly spent time bettering myself across various programming languages as well as becoming more knowledgeable about computers at the hardware level through building my own personal PC. Due to an excellent friend of mine I was able to get referred to this wonderful company and successfully get hired here as an intern!

Can you describe your personal self?

I’m somebody who’s really passionate about uncovering how things work at a deeper level but more than anything I like to do this with computers. I really enjoy coding lower-level programs, one thing I'm working on currently is a functional shell of my own! I also really enjoy abstract jazz along with a little free form from time to time but truthfully, I value and love all forms of music.

What are your top personal values, and how do you apply those to your work?

My top personal values are 100% doing my best to take care of those around me as well as maintaining a positive vibe and a can-do attitude. I apply this to work by always showing an eagerness to learn new tools and always checking on my coworkers and asking how they are doing!

Why did you choose to come to The Launch Box?

I heard about the amazing, skilled, people who I’d be potentially working with as well as the tools that I would learn as I get more integrated into my potential role, and I just couldn’t imagine any other place to work at then The Launch Box.

What is a common misconception you hear about IT?

That IT people just fix computers whenever they stop working. The more I’ve been explained the responsibilities of the IT department I’ve come further to the realization that- like all other Department branches, they are paramount to any company's success.

What is the most fulfilling part of your role at TLB?

100% the community. The guys I work with I’ve only known for such a short amount of time, but the effectiveness of communication feels like I’ve known them for a lifetime.

What about the future of TLB are you most excited about?

Developing my skillset with the company and getting more affiliated with how the company runs.
